1. Henan: 40.0398 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 21.2%

In the first quarter, the added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery increased by 10.7% year-on-year, an increase of 0.4% over the same period in 2019, and an average increase of 0.2% in two years. In the first quarter of 2021, 15.6958 million live pigs were sold in Henan, a year-on-year increase of 42.5%, and 40.0398 million live pigs were sold, a year-on-year increase of 21.2%.

The output of pig, beef, mutton, and poultry meat was 1.7825 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.6%; among them, the output of pork was 1.1699 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 43.3%, beef increased by 2.9%, mutton increased by 3.5%, and poultry meat increased by 6.6%. The output of poultry eggs was 1.1335 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%. The output of milk was 313,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%.

2. Sichuan: 39.921 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 33.7%

On April 15th, the 2020 Sichuan Animal Husbandry Association Annual Conference was held in Chengdu with the theme of "transformation and upgrading, high-quality development". The reporter learned from the meeting that the province's live pigs have recovered rapidly. In the first quarter of this year, the number of live pigs reached 39.921 million, a year-on-year increase of 33.7%, and the number of reproductive sows reached 4.024 million, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%.

The Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Statistics released the economic performance of Sichuan in the first quarter of 2021. The agricultural production situation in the first quarter was good. 15.375 million pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 37.8% year-on-year; 811,000 cattle were slaughtered, an increase of 2.2%; 4.166 million sheep were slaughtered, an increase of 2.4%; 190 million poultry were slaughtered, an increase of 10.4%.

3. Hunan: 38.045 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 33.9%

Pig production capacity gradually recovered. The stock of live pigs continued to rise, and the stable production and supply achieved phased results. In the first quarter, 15.2957 million live pigs were slaughtered in the province, a year-on-year increase of 29.6%. At the end of March, the number of live pigs was 38.045 million, an increase of 33.9%; among them, the number of reproductive sows was 3.634 million, an increase of 27%.

4. Yunnan: 31.4579 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%

In the first quarter, the output value of animal husbandry was 58.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%. The output of pig, beef, mutton and poultry meat was 1.2701 million tons, an increase of 14.2%, of which the output of pork was 987,500 tons, an increase of 18.6%; the number of live pigs was 31.4579 million, an increase of 30.1%;

5. Shandong: 28.221 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 29.4%

The production capacity of hogs recovered quickly. At the end of March, there were 28.221 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 29.4%; the cumulative number of live pigs sold increased by 13.1%, and the growth rate increased by 42.1 percentage points year-on-year. Meat, eggs, milk, and aquatic products are in sufficient supply.

6. Hubei: 22.0541 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 95.5%

The production capacity of animal husbandry recovered rapidly, and the production capacity of hogs recovered rapidly. At the end of the first quarter, there were 10.6552 million live pigs in the province, a year-on-year increase of 95.5%; the number of live pigs was 22.0541 million, a year-on-year increase of 24.8%, of which 2.2858 million were breeding sows, a year-on-year increase of 22.9%, and an increase of 8.9% over the same period in 2019.

The production of cattle, sheep and poultry picked up steadily. At the end of the first quarter, 299,500 cattle were slaughtered in the province, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%; 1,401,100 sheep were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 62.2%; 163,112,600 poultry were released from the cage, a year-on-year increase of 23.2%.

7. Guangxi: 20.7168 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 24.0%

The hog production capacity continued to recover. At the end of the first quarter, the number of hogs in the region was 20.7168 million, an increase of 4.0124 million over the end of the first quarter of the previous year, a year-on-year increase of 24.0%, and an increase of 13.3% over the end of the fourth quarter of the previous year. Among them, there were 2,223,900 breeding sows, an increase of 331,200 or 17.5% year-on-year, and an increase of 5.2% over the end of the fourth quarter of the previous year. In the first quarter, 7,027,300 live pigs were slaughtered in the region, an increase of 1,504,000 heads or 27.2% year-on-year; pork output was 581,900 tons, an increase of 129,900 tons or 28.7%.

8. Guangdong: 18.9363 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%

In the first quarter, the production of major agricultural products in Guangdong was stable. The output of poultry meat increased by 9.8%, the output of pork increased by 29.7%, and the output of aquatic products increased by 7.1%. The production capacity of hogs has recovered significantly. At the end of the first quarter, the number of hogs on hand was 18.9363 million, an increase of 36.3% year-on-year, of which 1.9054 million sows were capable of breeding, an increase of 28.2%.

9. Hebei: 17.44 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%

Animal husbandry production is generally improving, with 17.44 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%; pork output is 638,000 tons, an increase of 2.4%. The output of poultry eggs was 980,000 tons, an increase of 1.9%. The output of milk was 1.078 million tons, an increase of 7.7%. The output value of the three pillar industries of animal husbandry, vegetables, and fruit is 90.90 billion yuan, accounting for 87.3% of the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery.

10. Jiangxi: 16.248 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 49.7%

Agricultural production remained stable, and pig production capacity recovered well: in the first quarter, the province's total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery was 68.19 billion yuan, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year at comparable prices, and an average increase of 5.7% in two years. Poultry production grew steadily. 220 million poultry were stored in cages, an increase of 4.4%; 140 million poultry were released from cages, an increase of 5.4%; the output of poultry meat was 220,000 tons, an increase of 18.0%; the output of poultry eggs was 156,000 tons, an increase of 7.8%. Pig production capacity recovered well. At the end of March, there were 16.248 million live pigs on hand, an increase of 49.7%; 7.107 million live pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 49.1%; pork output was 558,000 tons, an increase of 47.3%.

11. Anhui: 15.614 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 36.8%

At the end of March, the number of live pigs was 15.614 million, an increase of 36.8%, of which reproductive sows increased by 35.5%; 6.645 million live pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 42.8%, and the output of pork was 573,000 tons, an increase of 43.2%. In the first quarter, the total output of meat, eggs and milk was 1.351 million tons, an increase of 20.3%, and the output of aquatic products increased by 4.2%.

12. Liaoning: 14.431 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 30.2%

The basic production capacity of live pigs continued to recover. Driven by the policy of stabilizing production and ensuring supply, the stock of live pigs increased by 30.2% year-on-year, and the slaughter of live pigs increased by 24.4%, indicating a significant increase in market supply. Livestock products such as cattle, sheep and poultry maintained growth. The output of beef, mutton and poultry increased by 4.4%, 1.2% and 4.7% respectively year-on-year, and the output of poultry eggs and milk increased by 0.8% and 2.2% respectively. The output of aquatic products has a good growth momentum. The output of aquatic products increased by 9.6% year-on-year.

13. Heilongjiang: 14.527 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%

The recovery of animal husbandry production has been accelerated, and the production capacity of hogs has basically returned to the level before the African swine fever epidemic. At the end of the first quarter, the number of live pigs was 14.527 million, an increase of 16.2% year-on-year, of which 1.483 million were breeding sows, an increase of 26.2%. Among the main livestock and poultry products, the output of pork, beef, mutton, and raw milk increased by 19.4%, 3.5%, 12.5%, and 5.9% year-on-year respectively.

14. Jiangsu: 12.617 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 103.0%

The production capacity of animal husbandry continued to recover: under the dual stimulus of various support policies and high market prices, the production capacity of hogs rebounded rapidly. In the first quarter, there were 12.617 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 103.0%; 5.535 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 136.3%; 1.297 million reproductive sows, a year-on-year increase of 74.9%. 130 million poultry were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, and the output of poultry eggs was 354,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%.

15. Guizhou: 12.5494 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%

Steady growth of animal husbandry. In the first quarter, there were 12.5494 million live pigs in the province, an increase of 6.9% over the same period of the previous year; 6.3989 million live pigs were sold, an increase of 4.7%. There were 4,599,600 cattle on hand, a decrease of 3.4%; 485,900 cattle were slaughtered, an increase of 1.8%. There were 2.9532 million sheep on hand, a decrease of 3.4%; 785,600 sheep were slaughtered, an increase of 1.0%. There were 114 million poultry in stock, an increase of 3.3%; 35 million poultry were slaughtered, an increase of 6.5%.

In the first quarter, the province's output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry was 707,300 tons, an increase of 6.2% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, the output of pork was 569,600 tons, an increase of 5.9%; the output of beef was 65,200 tons, an increase of 8.9%; the output of mutton was 13,600 tons, which was the same as the same period last year; The output of poultry eggs was 82,200 tons, an increase of 20.7%; the output of raw milk was 13,500 tons, a decrease of 22.9%.

16. Chongqing: 11.2187 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%

In the first quarter, 5,341,400 live pigs were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 35.2%; 60,931,000 poultry were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%; 86,000 cattle were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%; 1,261,200 sheep were slaughtered, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. The production capacity of live pigs has recovered significantly. At the end of the season, the number of live pigs was 11.2187 million, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%; the number of breeding sows was 1.1494 million, a year-on-year increase of 28.5%.

17. Jilin: 9.93 million live pigs, an increase of 30.2%

In the first quarter, the province's pig slaughter volume increased by 28.5%, cattle slaughter volume increased by 2.1%, sheep slaughter volume increased by 5.1%, poultry slaughter volume decreased by 2.3%, and poultry egg production decreased by 7.9%. At the end of the first quarter, the number of live pigs in the province increased by 30.2%.

18. Fujian: 9.1624 million live pigs

In the first quarter, the output of major agricultural products maintained an overall growth. The total output of meat, eggs and milk was 830,500 tons, an increase of 9.6%. Among them, the output of meat was 648,400 tons, an increase of 9.7%, of which the output of pork increased by 23.1%; the output of aquatic products was 1,882,600 tons, an increase of 3.4%.

The production capacity of live pigs has recovered significantly. At the end of the first quarter, the province had 3.9134 million live pigs for slaughter, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%;

19. Shaanxi: 8.519 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%

In the first quarter, pork, beef, mutton and poultry meat was 389,000 tons, an increase of 22.5%; milk was 234,000 tons, an increase of 0.6%; poultry eggs were 133,000 tons, an increase of 0.7%. As of the end of the first quarter, the number of live pigs was 8.519 million, an increase of 5.7%; the number of cattle was 1.494 million, an increase of 0.7%; the number of sheep was 8.593 million, an increase of 4.9%; the number of poultry was 73.355 million, an increase of 8.0%.

20. Zhejiang: 5.5013 million live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 42.5%

In the first quarter, the total output of meat was 272,000 tons, an increase of 18.0%, of which the output of pork, beef and mutton increased by 22.6%, and that of poultry meat increased by 9.7%. Egg production rose 1.3 percent, while milk production fell 0.8 percent. The total output of aquatic products was 1.291 million tons, an increase of 6.1%. At the end of the first quarter, Zhejiang’s hog herd increased by 42.5% year-on-year, the reproductive sow herd increased by 50.2%, the hog slaughter increased by 1.2%, and the pork output increased by 22.2%. Therefore, from these figures, it can be seen that Zhejiang’s hog production capacity has recovered relatively quickly.

At the end of the first quarter, the number of live pigs in the province was 5.5013 million, an increase of 42.5% year-on-year, but a decrease of 774,500 compared with the end of the previous year, and a decrease of 12.3% from the previous year; among them, the number of breeding sows was 563,600, a year-on-year increase of 50.2%, a decrease of 2.9% from the previous year %. In terms of output, the output of meat, poultry, eggs, and milk both achieved growth, and the output of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry reached 359,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.5%. The output of poultry eggs was 111,000 tons, an increase of 8.0%. The output of milk was 1.195 million tons, an increase of 5.7%.

22. Shanxi: 2.844 million live pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 38.4%

The production of animal husbandry recovered rapidly. 2.844 million pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 38.4%; 150,000 cattle were slaughtered, an increase of 26.7%; 51.022 million poultry were slaughtered, an increase of 43.6%. The output of pork, beef, sheep, and poultry was 357,000 tons, an increase of 45.6%; the output of milk was 311,000 tons, an increase of 22.2%; the output of poultry and eggs was 253,000 tons, an increase of 20.3%.

23. Hainan: 752,300 live pigs for slaughter, a year-on-year increase of 38.7%

The production of live pigs continued to pick up, with a slaughter volume of 752,300 heads, a year-on-year increase of 38.7%. The output of aquatic products was 417,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%.

At the end of the first quarter, the number of live pigs was 2.648 million, an increase of 68% year-on-year; the output of pork was 60,500 heads, an increase of 39.1% year-on-year; the number of reproductive sows was 376,800, an increase of 66.9% year-on-year.

24. Qinghai: 681,500 live pigs, a year-on-year increase of 62.3%

In the first quarter, there were 681,500 live pigs in the province, a year-on-year increase of 62.3%, 100,000 reproductive sows, a year-on-year increase of 78.3%, and a month-on-month increase of 6.0%, and 181,000 slaughtered pigs, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%; cattle stocks were 6,390,100 , an increase of 8.6%, 283,200 heads for slaughter, an increase of 3.7%; 16.1284 million sheep on hand, a decrease of 5.1%, and 1.0892 million slaughtered, an increase of 3.9%; %. 26. Ningxia: 310,900 live pigs were sold in the region, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%

The development of animal husbandry is strong. In the first quarter, 310,900 live pigs were slaughtered, an increase of 13.3%; 1,949,400 mutton sheep were slaughtered, an increase of 24.1%; 219,100 beef cattle were slaughtered, an increase of 44.5%; 3,944,500 poultry were slaughtered, an increase of 16.4%.

The supply of major agricultural products continued to grow. Among them, the output of vegetables was 386,900 tons, an increase of 0.7%; the output of milk was 652,200 tons, an increase of 29.7%; the output of aquatic products was 16,700 tons, an increase of 0.9%.
